About this tour
Brownsberg Nature Park can be found just a few hours' drive from Paramaribo. Via the Afobaka Road we continue our way to the foot of the mountain. On the way you will learn more about the savannah landscape, the authentic villages you pass and the history of Suriname.
The nature park covers 12,000 hectares, so you can spot a large part of the flora and fauna that Suriname has to offer in this area. Besides the great diversity of flora and fauna, the Leo Waterfall and the Irene Waterfall can also be found in Brownsberg Nature Park. The top of the Brownsberg offers a breathtaking view over the rainforest and the reservoir in the district of Brokopondo.
With an overnight stay on the mountain there is more time for nature, the waterfalls and a quiet evening and morning on top of the Brownsberg.

Programme
Day 1
Around 7:30 a.m. we leave the city for Brownsberg Nature Park. On the way there is a short stop for a nice breakfast. After this we continue to the top of the mountain. Once at the top it is time for lunch while enjoying the wonderful view the Brownsberg has to offer.
After lunch we walk to the Leo Waterfall and, if possible, the Irene Waterfall, through the rainforest where plenty of flora and fauna can be spotted. At the waterfalls there is a chance for a refreshing shower of spring water. In the evening we stay overnight on the Brownsberg.
Day 2
After breakfast there is time for a quiet morning walk and to enjoy once more the view over the rainforest and the reservoir from the top. In the course of the morning we return to Paramaribo.
