About this tour
A few hours' drive from Paramaribo lies Ston Island, a peninsula of the reservoir in the district of Brokopondo. Via the Afobaka Road we continue our way towards the area. On the way you will learn more about the savannah landscape, the authentic villages you pass and the history of Suriname.
From the peninsula there is a beautiful view over the reservoir with the characteristic treetops sticking out above the water. Ston Island offers the opportunity to swim, fish, canoe or simply relax.

Around 7:30 a.m. we leave the city for Ston Island. On the way there is a short stop for a nice breakfast. After this we continue to the recreation park of Ston Island. While you enjoy everything the Ston Island peninsula has to offer, we prepare a delicious, generous lunch for you.
On Ston Island you are free to spend the day as you please. You can choose to relax in the hammock, swim in the reservoir or take a trip by canoe. By canoe it is possible to visit an uninhabited little island opposite Ston Island. Ston Island also offers the opportunity to fish.
At the end of the day we return to Paramaribo.
