Together with the guide you leave in the late afternoon from the pier in Leonsberg. You board a traditional Surinamese boat, called a korjaal, and sail on along the Suriname River. After about an hour of sailing you arrive at the place where the river flows into the Atlantic Ocean and the beach of Braamspunt begins.
Here you have the chance to explore the surroundings and have something to eat before night falls and the sea turtles come ashore. As soon as the sun has set, you go with the guide in search of the turtles. After you have been able to admire several sea turtles up close, it is time to return to Paramaribo.
